Types and Delivery of Cargo Goods by Air
Unlike shipping via land, for air cargo shipments, there are several types of cargo that can be processed by air, including:
- General Cargo > goods that are not hazardous and are not easily damaged, rotten, or easily die and their size can fit in the airplane room, such as examples: Garment, spare parts, and electronics.
- Special Cargo > Goods that require special handling, such as examples of Live Animals such as chicks, fish, and there are also Human remains (HUM), namely corpses that use coffins. In item no. 1, if the goods are easily damaged, it is suitable to use this type of cargo. There are also perfume oils and human organs and diplomatic consignments.
- Dangerous Goods, commonly referred to as DG > Examples of these goods such as machinery, bullets, firecrackers, fireworks, vaporized goods such as Hydrogen, and liquid goods.
Classes of Hazardous Goods (DG)
For the type of Dangerous Goods (DG), the airline always asks for proof of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) or goods safety data sheet, usually in the sheet, there are types of goods included in DG, and Mitra Logistics always checks the data based on the classes of these materials, and there are 9 classes, namely:
- Class 1 > Explosive goods
- Class 2 > Flammable goods if pressed

- Class 6 > Items that contain poison
- Class 7 > Radioactive items

- Class 9 > Items containing magnets that affect airplane compasses
